First of all, thank you for using the word “pedant” which I did not know existed, but now love. That is literally a perfect description of my humor and I sincerely enjoy knowing that pedantic has a noun version. And frankly, you’re absolutely right. This was a over exaggerated joke piece, but getting serious, I think you are 100% spot on that it can be handy sometimes.

I wrote this because I just want the TDD die hards to admit it’s not a silver bullet so they should stop talking about it that way. And reactions here and elsewhere have seen people talking about TDD way more honestly than if you just let them gush, so I’m glad I did. As, I’ve said elsewhere, if people explained it to newbies the way you just did, I never would’ve gotten salty enough to write this piece in the first place.
